Safety — We know that being safe and comfortable in our office are big concerns for you, which is why we follow the strictest guidelines for bacterial control and sterilization set by groups such as the CDC and OSHA. We use disposable instruments and materials whenever possible, and instruments that are used repeatedly always get thoroughly cleaned and sterilized after each patient.

Office Atmosphere — Our team strives to provide a comfortable, fun-loving office environment with our video arcade, seasonal contests, and a rewarding incentive program. Our staff members like getting to know each patient. Once you become part of our practice, we consider you family.

Digital Imaging — Our state-of-the-art digital X-ray machine reduces patients’ radiation exposure by up to 90% while providing crisp, clear images for more efficient and effective diagnosis.

Appointment Availability — Our office schedule is well organized to accommodate working adult patients and students. We are open five days a week and offer both early morning and evening appointments.

Customized Treatment Plans — All of our patients are individuals and should be treated as such. The doctors customize every treatment plan for every patient using the most current and effective orthodontic treatments available.

Multiple Professional Opinions  As a team of orthodontic specialists, we routinely discuss challenging cases together and offer the best possible treatments.

Billing and Financing — It is essential to our office to make orthodontic treatment available to all patients. We participate with most insurance plans and we work with insurance companies to maximize your benefits. Convenient payment plans are available to help you achieve the beautiful smile you deserve. A discount is offered if full payment is made at the start of treatment. We work hard to make orthodontics affordable for everyone!

Sustained Relationship Upon Completion of Treatment — Our office will continue to maintain the relationship we have built during the course of orthodontic treatment by educating patients about retention. Maintaining your beautiful, completed, winning smile is as important as the first day of orthodontic treatment. Retention checks are done routinely!

American Board of Orthodontics Doctor Certification

The American Board of Orthodontics (ABO) was founded in 1929. It is the oldest and most prestigious specialty board in dentistry. The ABO’s aim is to elevate the standards of the practice of orthodontia, to familiarize the public with its aim and ideals, and to protect the public against irresponsible and unqualified practitioners.

The board upholds four main objectives supported by its mission:

  • To evaluate the knowledge and clinical skills of graduates of accredited orthodontic programs by conducting exams and conferring time-limited certificates
  • To re-evaluate clinical knowledge and skills through administration of recertification exams throughout a Diplomate’s career
  • To support the development of quality graduate, postgraduate, and continuing education programs in orthodontics
  • To promote and encourage certification expertise throughout the world

Becoming Board Certified

To become board certified, an orthodontist has to pass a rigorous set of written and clinical examinations, as well as a comprehensive review of his or her credentials. The initial process of becoming board certified can take anywhere from five to ten years. Once certified, the orthodontist must become recertified every ten years to maintain board-certified status.

What does it mean to be board certified?

Dr. Michael Kelly is a board-certified orthodontist, also known as a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics, and has been voluntarily examined by his peers on the basis of knowledge and clinical skills. Becoming board certified signifies the orthodontist’s pursuit of continued proficiency and excellence in orthodontics.
